UAE and USA Strengthen IP Cooperation with Accelerated Patent Grant Agreement
On July 11, 2025, in Geneva, Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) signed an Accelerated Patent Grant (APG) Agreement. Under this program, UAE patent applicants with corresponding U.S. applications granted by the USPTO can now receive expedited patent approvals in the UAE, helping innovators bring their ideas to market faster and with more certainty.
This milestone strengthens intellectual property cooperation between the Patent Offices in the UAE and the U.S., and will improve the efficiency of the patent prosecution process while eliminating redundancies. The Agreement marks a significant step forward in international patent work-sharing and provides valuable support to innovators both locally and globally.
