Trademark Registrations Increased By 39.12% in the UAE

The UAE Ministry of Economy recently released an update on the performance of the UAE’s IP sector, showing that there has been a significant uptick in IP registrations in the first nine months of 2024, with the total volume of IP registrations increasing by 34%. In the same period, trademark registrations increased by 39.12%, and patents, utility certificates, and industrial designs registrations by 8%, compared to the same period in 2023. The growth in IP registrations reflects the UAE’s continued focus on innovation and the progress made towards establishing a unified and comprehensive ecosystem for IP rights protection.
