Qatar Announces New Innovation and IP Support Initiative

The Qatari Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI) has announced the launch of a new initiative aimed at supporting innovators, inventors, and rights holders. The initiative is a cooperation between MOCI and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and is joined by the University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST), Sidra Medicine, the Qatar Council for Research, Development and Innovation (QRDI), and the Qatar Scientific Club.
 
The initiative will deliver an end to end suite of services supporting every stage of the innovation lifecycle, from early idea development and research through to the creation, commercialization, and use of intellectual property assets. Patent database searches, information analysis, tailored technical guidance, and assistance with invention marketing and technology transfer are some of the services that will be provided by the participating organizations.
