Patent Engineer (Dubai Office)

As part of our strategic expansion in the Middle East, we are building one of the region's most advanced patent practices. We are seeking exceptional, technically strong candidates who are passionate about building a career in the patent field, combining their technical expertise with the practice of intellectual property law.

In this role, you will be part of a dynamic and collaborative team, supporting both international and local clients in protecting and managing their intellectual property portfolios. You will be involved in a wide range of technical and patent-related matters, assisting clients in securing and maximizing the value of their innovations across multiple jurisdictions. Working alongside experienced multinational patent attorneys and IP specialists, you will receive comprehensive training in patent drafting, international filing strategies, and client advisory work, while gaining hands-on experience in patent prosecution, technical analysis, and IP portfolio management.

We are particularly interested in candidates with a strong background in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Sciences or related scientific disciplines, although outstanding applicants from other engineering and technical fields are also encouraged to apply.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Review patent specifications, claims, and drawings to ensure compliance with jurisdictional requirements.
  • Work closely with inventors, multinational clients, foreign associates, and senior patent attorneys.
  • Assist in preparing responses to office actions and managing patent prosecution strategies.
  • Assist in drafting and prosecuting patent applications across multiple jurisdictions, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia and other Middle East countries.
  • Develop expertise in Middle East patent practice, patent databases, and IP portfolio management.


Qualifications & Skills

  • 2–3 years of professional experience (exceptional fresh graduates are encouraged to apply).
  • Master's degree or Ph.D. preferred in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Sciences.
  • Outstanding technical and analytical abilities with a genuine passion for innovation.
  • Strong interest in pursuing a long-term career as a Patent Attorney.
  • Excellent research, technical writing, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken English. Arabic is an added advantage.
  • This position is open to candidates located within the Middle East time zone, with flexibility for both on-site and remote work arrangements.
