Kumiko  Kitaoka , Ph.D.

Dr. Kitaoka is an international intellectual property attorney, who has practiced international law, health care law, product liability law, and administrative law in Japan and the US.

Kumiko was an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Medicine at Tokyo Medical University, Japan. She has advised clients on matters related to IP licensing, IP valuation, M&A, JV agreements, international investment agreements, and telecommunication regulations.

She has published widely on the issues associated with life sciences, standard essential patents, privacy law, and tort law. She has given lectures on trade secret law, tort law, patent law, and international arbitration. She is a licensed physician in Japan, and patent attorney in Japan and the US.
