Algeria Adopts the Hague Apostille Convention
Algeria has officially acceded to the Hague Apostille Convention (the 1961 Convention Abolishing the Requirement of Legalization for Foreign Public Documents).
Following the deposit of its instrument of accession on 5 November 2025, the Convention will enter into force for Algeria on 9 July 2026, allowing public documents to be authenticated through an apostille instead of the traditional consular legalization process.
