Gideon B. Eckhouse
- Trademark of Counsel | U.S. Patent Attorney
- English
With over 20 years of experience spanning outside counsel, in-house, and start-up environments, Mr. Eckhouse is a seasoned intellectual property attorney whose practice sits at the intersection of law and science. His deep expertise in trademark prosecution, patent counseling, and brand enforcement is uniquely bolstered by a biochemistry background — allowing him to navigate complex life sciences and technology IP matters with precision.
Prior to joining OBWB, Mr. Eckhouse served as Chief IP Counsel for Vital Pharmaceuticals, Inc., where he managed a portfolio of nearly 3,000 trademarks, copyrights, and patents — including U.S. and Madrid trademark applications — while advising the CEO, General Counsel, and department heads on IP asset scope, enforcement, and clearance. He conducted IP due diligence for a nine-figure asset purchase, and developed brand management strategies for existing and emerging products.
Gideon also served as General Counsel for an AI startup (HeartStamp Inc.) based in Tucson, Arizona. As founding legal counsel, he built the company's foundational IP portfolio, negotiated and drafted agreements, and advised leadership on IP strategy, contracts, and company-wide policies — including those addressing AI-related IP risk.
Mr. Eckhouse has a strong record of managing high-stakes portfolios, counseling C-suite executives, and serving as the sole legal authority for multi-million dollar enterprises. At OBWB, Gideon leverages his expertise and legal acumen to support the firm's domestic and international clients.
